It’s the start of the last block of this academic year and summer is teasingly close!

? What’s going on – Upcoming Events and Initiatives

Here’s what we have confirmed going on in April:

? 4th Block Study Groups

Do you need help with the classes from the 4th block? Our Student Support and First Years Committees are organizing student-led study sessions for all your classes!

Sign up here if you would like some help for these classes (based on the availability of a tutor):

First-year classes

  • Introduction to Political Science
  • Politics of the EU

Second-year classes

  • International Law and Human Rights
  • Rational Choice Theory

Study groups will take place online once per week, and will last approximately one hour. Exact times will be communicated by your tutor and communication will take place via Whatsapp groups.

?️ Career Talk with Susi Snyder – 13.04

Do you want to learn more about what it is like working in the political field after graduation? Then join the Academic committee’s new series of talks on future career paths: Career Talk.

The first talk will be with Suzi Snyder, who works for PAX, an NGO involved in nuclear disarmament campaigns.

? Discussion: Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation – 16.04

The Sports & Physical Health Committee is proud to announce that we will be joined by Florian Pillin (Belgium-based, physiotherapist for Royal Antwerp Football Club, & Christof Simon Kinesitherapir LesMills NL/BE Head Trainer) in a constructive discussion or interview (Q&A style) on common sports injuries, how to prevent them and how to cure them.

The interview will be conducted via Instagram live where Florian will join us from Antwerp and answer our pre-made questions. There will be enough time for answers to questions posed before & during the live stream by the CIROS Community (a google forms will be created for questions). Topics discussed will include a basic introduction of who he is, common sports injuries and how to prevent them, tips and tricks, his personal experiences with football injuries.

? The Hague Career Event – 12.04 -> 16.04

Do you already know what you want to do after you graduate? How do you find out what suits you? And how do you prepare for the labour market? For anyone who asks themselves these questions, there is the Online Campus The Hague Career Event from 12-16 April 2021.

The Online Campus The Hague Career Event is the perfect time to orientate yourself towards your future. It promises to be an inspiring week with various workshops and presentations. Find more information about the programme and registration here!

?️ Election General Assembly – 16.04

On the 16th of April, wewill host the Online Election General Assembly, where you as members can interact with the election candidates in a live Q&A.

After the GA, a personalised link for members to vote will also be sent out and the voting will be open for 3 days.

2021-2022 CIROS Board Applications

Submissions are now closed and we are happy to announce that we have candidates for each position.

Next week, we will be starting the election campaigns and you will be able to get to know the candidates better.

We wish everyone running the best of luck!

?? Graduation

For all the third-year students out there: Do you want to store your fun memories about the program and remember lovely IRO folks forever?

Then make sure to fill out this form for the graduation book. Your answers will be recorded and included in the yearbook prepared by the Graduation committee

? COVID-19 Measures

A comprehensive overview of all measures can be found here.

There is only one change to the measures since the last newsletter:

  • The curfew remains in place but has been pushed back to 10 pm

All other measures remain the same and have been extended until April 20th

? Office Hours

We are continuing to have our office hours on our Instagram on Mondays from 13:00-14:00 and Wednesday from 12:00-13:-00, so feel free to ask any questions you have during these times, and we will be sure to answer them the best we can.
